Visit 4 destinations to discover the best of Brazil!

On this tour, begin your Brazilian exploration with the famous and fantastic Iguacu Water Falls.

Then on to the ‘Wonderful city’ of Rio de Janeiro, a magical place with its unique cultural vitality and magnificent setting where the mountains overlook the ocean.

Next you’ll discover Salvador de Bahia and get to know the passionate Afro-Brazilian culture and the beautiful beaches of this region.

Lastly, you will encounter the Amazon and stay in an isolated lodge lost in the jungle and visit the famous town of Manaus.

These landmarks have been chosen for their emblematic character and touristic interest and they offer a panorama of Brazil’s extraordinary diversity of landscapes and cultures.

The Amazon river.

Foz de Iguacu, a classic visit in Brazil, perfect for a breathtaking  experience

The Iguacu Falls are unique in South America. They are not the highest falls but are 3000 meters in width so their majestic power always impresses visitors, whether they are locals or foreigners.

The river Iguacu creates a natural border at the falls between the state of Parana and Argentina. The falls are very different depending on whether you visit from one side or the other.

The town of Foz d’Iguacu a few kilometres away is very touristic and there are lots of other activities in this region. The triple border with Paraguay and Argentina means you can spend a day in Ciudad del Este or in other neighbouring places.

A panoramic view of the mighty Iguacu Falls.

“The Wonderful City”, discover this beautiful Carioca capital

Rio de Janeiro is said to be the most beautiful big city in the world, it certainly is from a geographical aspect. Although it is a large city it has managed to conserve small pockets of green everywhere thanks to a very hilly landscape with steep mountains.

It also has its famous beaches Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana which add an even more exotic touch to this magnificent capital city. Contemplating this incredible panorama from the Corcovado or the Sugar loaf Mountain is an unforgettable experience that you will never tire of.

This town never sleeps and combines all its natural and cultural treasures with a unique elegance. The welcoming inhabitants are always happy to share a part of their culture. The town where Samba was born has lots of places where you can mix with the locals and dance until the early hours of the morning. Don’t forget the extraordinary carnival with a street reserved solely to present each of the blocos or floats during the festivities.

Some people enjoy a sunny day at Ipanema beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Welcome to the vibrant capital of Afro-Brazilian culture

Salvador de Bahia is unique in Brazil. Some even describe it as another country inside Brazil.

It was the country’s capital for several centuries on a headland at the entrance to the bay from where it gets its name. It is bordered by nearly 25kms of beaches. You will find colonial architectural heritage, notably in the historical district of Pelourinho. It is also here that a large part of the black slaves who came directly from Africa were disembarked before being sold and sent across the country. The city has thus become the cradle of most Afro-Brazilian cultures and many religious syncretisms such as Candomblé.

A memorable stay in the largest rainforest in the world

You can’t imagine the Amazon until you have stayed in it. Everything is so exquisite that even the most spectacular photos are a disappointment compared to reality.

Covering almost 50% of Brazil, this visit is not to be missed.

The capital of Manaus is also a “must” with its fascinating architectural heritage built from the fortunes made from producing rubber sap in the XIXth century. In particular there is the beautiful Amazonas theatre.

To really discover this tropical forest and its inhabitants, we suggest staying in a lodge right in the heart of the jungle. It takes about 3hrs from the regional capital to get to the lodge, and the trip is an excursion in itself. You will see the highly photographed ‘encounter of the waters’ where the clear black water of the Negro river meets the murky brown water of the Solimoes river, that becomes the Amazon after Manaus. You can also go on a private cruise on this river for 2 nights, or more, if you wish.
